Having looked at the options for publishing my game, the most efficient and simplest way for me to share my project for marking and with the public is by publishing it as a WebGL build, and uploading it to the website www.itch.io as a finished game (with a link to the game on my website www.mattmitchdesign.wixsite.com/portfolio).
Originally, I was planning on publishing a PC standalone, but distribution would have been much more difficult, so i have changed the build settings on my project to WebGL.
